Project Overview
Two large-format mirror panels installed along the end wall of a covered equestrian arena in Langley. Safety-backed glass sits in a stainless J-channel at the base, giving riders a full reflection of their position, horse movement, and arena from horseback height.
The Challenge
This Langley equestrian facility needed arena mirrors on the short end wall of their covered indoor riding arena — a standard training tool that lets riders check position and movement without dismounting. The mirrors had to be large enough to be useful from horseback, flush-mounted so no hardware projected into the horse zone, and specified in safety-backed glass appropriate for an active stable environment with open sand footing and timber construction.
Our Solution
WaveGlass fabricated two large-format 6mm mirror panels with factory-applied vinyl safety backing — ensuring any breakage stays adhered to the film rather than fragmenting. Panels were set into a stainless steel J-channel anchored to the rough-sawn timber wall framing at the base, providing a clean edge seat and carrying panel weight without face hardware. The two-panel layout covers the full width of the end wall and delivers a clear, continuous reflection across the arena.
The Result
The completed mirrors provide a full reflection of the riding arena from the dressage C marker end — riders can observe position, diagonal, and horse movement without dismounting. The safety-backed, flush-mounted installation is suited to the conditions of a working stable. The facility now has a professional training feature that previously required a trip to commercial boarding facilities.
