Project Overview
Custom Starphire low-iron tub panels installed across multiple units in a Vancouver condo building — completed in partnership with Lower Coast Building Group. Each panel was custom-cut to fit the existing soaker tub surround with no structural modifications.
The Challenge
Lower Coast Building Group needed a glazing subcontractor to supply and install custom tub panels across several condo units, each with slightly different tub dimensions and surround conditions. The specification called for optically clear glass with no visible green tint at the panel edges — critical against the all-white tile surrounds. Scheduling had to be coordinated around suite occupancy and building elevator access.
Our Solution
WaveGlass templated each tub opening individually and fabricated panels in Starphire (low-iron) tempered glass, which eliminates the green cast present in standard clear glass — particularly noticeable on a panel edge against white tile. Polished chrome U-channels and clamps were used throughout to match the existing fixture finish. All units were measured and installed efficiently within the building's access windows.
The Result
The low-iron panels are virtually invisible against the white tile surrounds, keeping the focus on the soaker tubs. Lower Coast Building Group confirmed the installations met spec and subsequently engaged WaveGlass on additional glazing scopes across their Lower Mainland projects.
